Online dating in Canada is an art. I’ve found that it doesn’t require skill to simply make a profile and search for users, but if you really want to get noticed, you have to be good! I stepped on his feet a few times and I actually ended up falling once. ( I’ve never been ballroom dancing before) I had a lot of fun regardless. Our third and fourth dates weren’t as spectacular, but every night out with Nav is amazing to me.

            Anyways, after chatting a few more times in the Canadian online dating site, we decided to to go steady. This is fantastic, I havn’t officially had a boyfriend, (well, at least one that treats me as good as Nav ) in years, im very happy. Been living in a small community my whole life up north in Alberta Canada. We don’t have many women up here, mostly cause its just a small mill town. Its pretty hard to find a wife.  Many of my friends have been recently trying this online dating thing on the internet. Online dating is like dating in your city, except the people can come from all over; anyone else that is online dating can find you and you them. So, I went over to my buddy Tavis’ house and we logged onto this online dating site, it was pretty neat, it had lots of colours and do-hickies and whatnot, we were looking around the site for ages. Finally we decided to search for other women who were online dating as well, it didn’t take long before we were messaging some pretty girls from Red Deer. Now, Red Deer  is a good distance away, but those girls sure were pretty.

            At work the next day Tavis told me he checked his email this morning and there was a message from each of the girls from the online dating site. They suggested we chat some more, and maybe us guys could come own for a weekend and we’d all go camping or something.

Sounds like a solid plan, me and Tav’ are gonna message em back tonight to chat and maybe arrange some sort of fun weekend camping trip.

Online dating is pretty helpful considering there aint much women up here, I mean, really, without online dating, Tavis and I might never find good wives.

I think online dating opened up the world to us, it shows that this town just isn’t big enough, we may move out into a bigger city sometime soon, maybe if it works out between us and these pretty ladies. I think ill bring them some pretty roses.

Recap: the girl I’ve had a crush on since high school in on line dating and I just messaged her.

Within two hours she responded to my message, “wow, your looking really good danny! Its been what? Eight years since I’ve seen you?! You’ve really filled out, I see your still leaving at home, maybe you want to get a drink? Ill be in town this weekend, call me!” my jaw hit the floor… Mary, my secret crush wants to get a drink… and told me I looked good! I think I jumped right out of my seat.

When we met up at star bucks we chatted about how ironic it was that we ha both been on line dating. I told her that I had always had a crush on her and how surprised I was that she even knew who I was on the on line dating site. She snickered and told me she had always thought I was cute.

This week we will be having our 6^th date!! 6^th!!!! We’re done with the on line dating stuff its totally physical now.  I cant believe I’m actually dating Mary! She is the culmination of everything I’ve ever wanted in a woman. I dreamed that I would some day kiss her soft cheeks… and now I can! Its amazing! I’ve never felt like this. On line dating has completely restored my faith in love. I know I’ve sort of dragged this story out , but I feel really special right now, thanks to on line dating I’m with my dream girl and I couldn’t be happier. Have you ever had that one person that all your life you couldn’t get out of your head… you know they don’t really like you, or know that you even exist, but no matter what, they are forever embedded in your heart? There was this girl I went to school with years ago, her name was, well, lets just call her Mary.

Anyways, all throughout high school I had the biggest crush on Mary, she barely new I existed, and even if she did, she certainly didn’t care about me. Anyways, she had a new boyfriend every month, and I had never even kissed a girl so what chance did I have? Very slim right? Right. Anyways after we graduated, Mary moved across province for school and I ended up staying back in town. Fast forward 7 years now, I’m 25 and I still haven’t kissed a girl, I frequent online dating sites and Mary has since become a distant thought in my head. Until 3 weeks ago. When I was online dating, I was scrolling through people in nearby cities and I saw her face, I new it was her. Anyways, I took off my goofy picture, and found the best possible replacement, I must have typed out 15 messages before deciding which one to send. I wanted everything to be perfect. I sent her an online dating message assuming she wouldn’t remember me saying “ Hey Mary, I doubt you remember me, but we went to high school together, anyways I saw that your online dating and I had to say hi!, how’ve you been? You look great”

At the advent of online dating, it was being looked down upon as a desperate means of finding a partner. It was an era when the concept of Internet dating was at its nascent stage. My name is Bryan, and I am one of those Oshawa singles that are available and ready to mingle. My sons name is Samuel, it was his seventh birthday yesterday, and the only thing he asked for was that his mother would come home to visit him.

I’m Daniel, a single father in Kitchener. My wife, well, ex-wife Nikki, had been having an affair with a co-worker of hers for about three years; I never suspected a thing. Hearken unto me, swingers of Toronto. AIDS is a demon, yes, but it’s something that can be beaten by simple foresight and responsibility. Do they hate us because we are morally wrong, and a poor example for their children? I put it to you now, Toronto swingers, what is worse? Screwing the neighbor and lying about it, and then torturing yourself over it, or screwing the neighbor and admitting it, and inviting the spouse to join in? This is the lesson of swinging: Everybody fucks. The wise admit it and then have fun, the ignorant and the fearful hide it and revile it and make what should be the worlds greatest experience into a painful thing to be done behind locked doors.

            Do you know why they hate us? Because they are jealous. Because they are small and sad, and we have all the fun. We are the only ones not plagued by the idea that someone out there is having more fun than us. Take heart, Toronto swingers, the new dark age will not last forever. Someday AIDS will die, and then those who live in fear of sex will come out of hiding, and we will be waiting here for them. We who never left.
